Physical Therapy is for clients with a specific injury or dysfunction that requires pain, mobility, and strength to be addressed by a doctor of physical therapy!
A referral from a physician is NOT required to start physical therapy!
Missouri law allows up to 10 visits within a 30 day period without a prescription.
Physical Therapy entails:
Medical History Review: Prepares your PT for the examination to assist in her understanding how you, as a whole person, function and allows her to screen for any major issues
Injury/Dysfunction History: Gives your PT an overview of your injury /dysfunction and how it is affecting your function
Movement Analysis: A physical assessment of your ability to move and function allows your PT to plan your treatments specific to your needs and goals
Assessment and Plan Coordination: Allows your PT to explain what is happening with your body and the best way to address it; together you set up a plan that is both effective and feasible
Treatment: Begins your journey toward healing!
